Rates + Insurance
Like most specialty providers, I am private pay and do not participate in any private insurance plans. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility. Working outside of the insurance system allows me to keep your personalized, high-quality clinical mental health care my #1 priority. However, I know that it can be hard to pay for therapy out of pocket. (I’ve done it myself!) Thus, I always provide support in helping you figure out how to offer a few options to support making my services accessible. Please check out my payment options for Intensives below.
Out-of-Network (OON) Benefits
Many clients don’t realize that their PPO provides OON benefits and that they may be eligible for reimbursement up to 80% of their therapy fees!
Most PPO Insurances offer out of network benefits. In some cases, you may be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits to offset the costs of therapy. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at time of appointment. You can call your provider to ask about coverage. I’ve included below some questions you can ask your PPO to determine what type of OON coverage you can access.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Like most specialty providers, I do not participate in any insurance plans. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility.
-
I can provide you a Superbill at the end of each month to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
-
Yes. If you want to seek more information about your out-of-network benefits, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:
Do I have benefits for out-of-network psychotherapy?
Is there a deductible? How much have I reached? When does the deductible reset (usually January 1)?
What are the out-of-network benefits for CPT codes 90791 (initial assessment), 90834 (individual psychotherapy), 90837 (individual psychotherapy)?
Will the insurance company reimburse for sessions over 60 minutes? EMDR intensive sessions are typically 90-120 minutes at a time. If so, how do they want those sessions billed?
Will they reimburse you for two 90837 sessions in one day? Most insurances only reimburse one session a day and up to 50-60 minutes
Do I have coverage for therapy via teletherapy (video or phone), with the modifier code 95? This is usually indicated on your receipt or claim by adding "95" to the billing code, i.e. 90834-95 is for an individual session via teletherapy. This will help us know if we can meet virtually for the pre-intensive or post-intensive sessions or if it needs to be in-person for you to get reimbursed.
Do I need any pre-authorization to receive these services out-of-network?
Can I submit claims electronically? How long does it take to process?

Before scheduling a therapy session or EMDR Intensive, I do a free intro call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here’s what you can expect:
-I’ll ask you about why you’re seeking therapy
-I’ll tell you a bit about myself and my approach as a therapist
-You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover
-We’ll talk about rates, insurance, availability, etc.
-
I can provide you a superbill following our EMDR Intensive that you may submit to your insurance company. Insurance companies typically cover only a percentage of one therapy hour per day.
-
All payments for regular 50-min therapy sessions are due at the time of services. These payments are made through my Client Portal via Stripe.
I accept all major credit cards and HSA cards.
-
I offer a few payment options to reserve your space for EMDR Intensives. Options include:

All confirmed appointments require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee. I understand that unexpected situations arise and will always try to accommodate rescheduling within the same week when possible, though availability cannot be guaranteed. By booking the Intensive, you have purchased this time and it is yours unless you cancel at least 1 week prior to Day 1.
All confirmed EMDR Intensive sessions require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. For full-day or multi-day intensives, the remaining 50% balance is due one week prior to Day 1.
If you need to cancel your intensive, more than one week’s notice is required. Cancellations made with less than one week’s notice will be charged the full intensive fee.
If you would like to reschedule your full-day or multi-day intensive and we are able to secure a new date within one month of the original intensive date, your original deposit will be applied to the rescheduled session. If we are unable to reschedule within one month, the original deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to reserve a future date.
Thank you for understanding that intensive sessions require significant preparation and the reservation of extended time dedicated exclusively to your care.
