EMDR Intensives
Personalized, immersive therapy experiences for half and multi-day formats in Washington, DC + Online
You’re ready to dive deep into your healing journey.
Whether you're looking to work on a specific traumatic event, work through ongoing challenges, or simply fast-track your progress, EMDR intensives provide a focused and supportive environment for rapid healing.
Instead of attending weekly hour-long sessions, intensives offer a dedicated block of time for deep therapeutic immersion. This concentrated approach harnesses the potency of EMDR without the intervals between sessions, allowing you to delve deeper into your healing journey and experience accelerated relief.
What is an EMDR intensive?
EMDR intensives involve extended sessions—typically 3 to 5 hours per day over several days—designed to promote faster symptom relief. Intensives are safe and effective treatment for complex trauma. I offer several flexible intensive formats to fit your needs and schedule.
Benefits of the intensive format include:
Faster reduction of symptoms for trauma, phobias, and anxiety
Fewer total treatment hours overall
Cost saving and efficiency over time
Safe and effective support for complex trauma and specific fears and phobias (e.g., fear of flying, public speaking, etc)
Choose the right EMDR Intensive format for you
It’s important to have choices! I offer intensives in a few different durations to satisfy your budget, needs, & goals.

Half day intensives are 3 hours of therapy in one day.
Rather than spending part of each session ramping up and winding down, a three-hour intensive gives your body the time it needs to feel safe, regulated, and receptive. This is often where real change happens.
Working in an extended block reduces the emotional whiplash of opening something important, pausing it for a week, and then restarting. This continuity often leads to clearer insights, stronger shifts, and a greater sense of forward movement.
A three-hour format allows space to process, reflect, and ground before the session ends, helping changes feel more stable and usable in everyday life rather than rushed or overwhelming.
Rate: $1,000 / 3hr session

One day intensives include 5 hours of therapy in one day.
All full day intensive packages require an intake evaluation (90 min) to prepare and a follow up session (50 min).
Following the initial assessment session, we will schedule our full day intensive.
We meet for 5 hours total - 2.5 hours in the morning, break for an hour, and return for 2.5 hours in the afternoon.
With sustained time, we can explore how past experiences connect to present-day reactions, behaviors, and beliefs, allowing for clearer understanding and faster resolution of what’s been keeping you stuck.
A full-day intensive includes built-in pacing, breaks, and regulation so you can do meaningful work while still feeling steady, supported, and able to return to daily life with a greater sense of ease.
Rate: $1,750 / 5hr session
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due 1 week prior to Day 1 of the intensive.
All Intensive package fees are communicated ahead of time in accordance with the No Surprises Act.

Multiple day intensives are 2 to 3 days in length and include 5 hours of therapy each day.
All multi-day intensive packages require an intake evaluation (90 min) to prepare and a follow up session (50 min).
Intensives are not a one-size-fits all model. Juliana will carefully assess your goals, needs, preferences, and will make recommendations for the amount of days and hours. She also may recommend more than one intensive or alternative treatment options based on your specific needs.
Following the initial assessment session, we will schedule our intensive. Multiple day intensives are generally scheduled within 1-2 weeks.
Working across multiple days gives us the opportunity to address core experiences, process what comes up, and then build on that progress in a thoughtful way which leads to deeper and more lasting change.
Instead of spacing work out over weeks or months, multi-day intensives keep the healing process moving forward. Clients are then better able to connect the dots, shift long-standing patterns, and experience relief more quickly.
With time built in between sessions for grounding, rest, and reflection, your nervous system has space to settle and absorb the work. This makes the changes feel more stable and sustainable rather than rushed.
Multi-Day Intensive Rate: $1,750/day (not including Intake & Follow Up)
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due 1 week prior to Day 1 of the intensive.

What does an EMDR Intensive include?
Our work begins with a brief video consultation to determine whether an EMDR intensive is the right fit for your needs. You'll have a chance to ask questions, share what's bringing you to therapy, and get a feel for how I work. If we decide to move forward, we'll schedule your intake and reserve your intensive dates.
1
Free Consult (30 min)
We will meet for a pre-intensive session to customize a treatment plan and intensive schedule. This will help us determine the goals of the EMDR Intensive and prepare for the experience. We will identify the painful memories, beliefs, emotions, or images from which you are seeking relief.
You’ll also complete a guided workbook at home between our intake and your Intensive session. This workbook is a tool designed to help you clarify goals, track past experiences, identify themes, and reflect on your emotional landscape. It will lay the groundwork for more focused, effective EMDR processing during our Intensive sessions.
2
Intake Session (90 min) + Prep Workbook
Additional Prep Sessions (as needed)
3
In the Intake Session, we’ll decide if you need a few individual preparation sessions (50 min) to help get ready for the Intensive. These sessions might focus on bolstering emotional regulation skills, psychoeducation about exactly what you are navigating, or managing symptoms that may come up during the session (panic, suicidality, etc).
We do the Intensive! Standard EMDR Intensives are 5 hours per day, though we can work together to modify the format for you based on your individual needs.
At the start, we will work on creating a safe space for your healing to begin. Each day of your Intensive includes 2.5 hours of EMDR in the morning, followed by an hour break, and 2.5 hours of EMDR in the afternoon.

Post-Intensive Follow Up (50 min)

One post treatment session (50 min) is included in the cost of your Intensive package. In this follow up session, we will debrief the experience and reflect on areas of insight, relief, and transformation. We will discuss your next steps for continued growth and healing.

Therapy intensives offer more depth than traditional weekly therapy. Instead of working in shorter sessions spread out over time, an intensive creates dedicated space to focus fully on your goals. This allows us to follow the work where it naturally leads and support your nervous system through the entire process. My intensive clients find this to be much easier than starting and stopping each week.
My clients experience meaningful shifts more quickly and leave intensive sessions feeling more settled and grounded. They report experiencing deeper progress in a shorter period of time.

Intensives are ideal for people who:
Have tried talk therapy, self-help, or even EMDR/IFS before but still feel stuck
Are navigating grief, relational loss, betrayal, or childhood wounds
Want relief and results faster than traditional therapy offers
Desire a therapist who is flexible, attuned, and skilled at guiding deep healing
If you resonate with this, a free consultation can help us explore whether an intensive is right for you.
-
Absolutely! EMDR Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy to your weekly therapy sessions. I will work with you to connect with your current therapist to collaborate on how best to serve you.
-
EMDR Intensives are not covered by insurance. However, if you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse a portion of the sessions. This is determined by your insurance on case-by-case basis.
-
By booking the intensive, you have purchased this time and it is yours unless you cancel at least 2 weeks prior to Day 1. You will be charged the total amount of the intensive package if you cancel the intensive under 2 weeks of Day 1.
How is intensive therapy more cost effective and time efficient than weekly therapy?
50-min weekly therapy sessions typically include:
10-15 minutes of checking in from the last session
20-30 minutes of EMDR processing
10-15 minutes of closing the session
You may spend a whole month working on one specific target, costing $1,000 for the 4 weekly therapy sessions.
But realistically, something often comes up between sessions, you don’t want to work on processing the next session, and session focus week-to-week might shift significantly.
So you might actually be in weekly therapy for multiple months ($1,000 x’s # of months) and still not feel fully resolved in the thing causing you stress right now.
Half or Full Day Intensive therapy sessions typically include:
10-15 minutes of checking in, establishing session focus
160-270 minutes of EMDR processing
10-15 minutes closing the session
You may fully resolve one or multiple stressors within half a day, costing around $1,000. 2-3 hours of EMDR processing is equivalent to at least double that amount of talk therapy sessions so you’re doing more work, in less time, needing less therapy overall. You feel better, sooner.
You’ll get targeted, focused time without the weekly commitment. You don’t have to keep taking time off of work or paying for childcare to attend your sessions.
